1. This is a Harry Potter Role-Play Site. This means you must have knowledge of the books and the movies. If you have only seen the movies and never read the books then I am sorry to burst your bubble but they're way off from the books. Okay, so I am exaggerating a bit but you all get the picture. Please have knowledge of the Harry Potter Universe, were not asking for you to be a complete expert though. This mostly comes into play with canons. We want our canons as close to book canon as possible!
2. Spelling and Grammar. This is a big issue. ( FILTHY little MUDBLOOD ) is an advanced literate site. I am assuming that you all have a good grasp of the English language. I am only asking for you to have at the very minimum of three decent sized paragraphs. What I mean by three decent paragraphs is that they should each have about five to six sentences. These sentences should have proper spelling and grammar. We are all human so a few mistakes are acceptable. A way to prevent as few mistakes as possible is the Word program or maybe a spelling and grammar check somewhere on the internet. Firefox has a built in spell check as well as the google tool bar.
3. Characters and their flaws. Every person in the whole world, (even the most beautiful of people) has flaws. This means that your character should too. Then again, this does not mean your character should have so many flaws that the character is just unbearable. So please, just make your guy or gal realistic as possible.
4. Now, when you post make sure it's in third person. I shouldn't have to say this but it seems that I have too. Third person is like this:
Harry walked into the room as his scar seared with pain.
Not like this, this would be first person:
I looked around the room as my scar seared with pain.
It's somewhat simple to grasp and were just asking for you to use the correct format.
5. Respect. That is a big thing here. The admin are only here to help you and make the site run as smooth as possible. The code phrase is 'I need a hero'. We will try to help you out the best we possibly can. We ask you that if you have a problem with another member you take it to personal message (pm) or some form of chat messenger. If the problem is too big for you to handle it would be smart to personal message (pm) and admin and ask for some help.
6. Godmodding. This is where you control another character that does not belong to you. This is very unacceptable. If you have permisson from the character's owner that this is an exception. If you do not there will be serious consequences taken. I advise that you follow this rule closely and throughly.
7. As for your characters signatures you can have a banner or a few icons. The only thing we ask is for you not to stretch the page with it. If is does stretch the page then one of the admin will pm you a warning. If you do not fix your signature one of the admin will remove it entirely.
8. We want this site to be as active as possible mostly if you have an important canon (like the Marauders and a few others). The only thing we ask is for you to post an away message if you not going to be around for a while. The originals and the minor canons are also important so make sure you also keep up your activity. We will have activity checks every so often just to make sure everything is going smoothly.
9. Please do not Sign Up just to Advertise and/or Affiliate your site and/or just to spam on the site. It gets really annoying when people do that. Their is a Affiliate and Advertise board that is GUEST friendly so you can Advertise and Affiliate your sites their.
10. Please do not PM the Admins for certain codes that were used on the site. There are Sites out their that will help you find a code if you need one.
11. Swearing is allowed on the site but make sure you don't swear in every post you make. It will get kind of annoying and their might be younger kids on here that really don't need to read a lot of swearing.
12. Sex and Wizarding Alcoholic Drinks are allowed but make sure you do go over board on it. If I find out their are people that are going over board on it then I will delete this rule. If you do go in to a sexual scene make sure you tell an Admin and put [R] in the Subject. Also don't go in to detail about it. DRUGS ARE NOT ALLOWED. I don't like people doing them in Real Life and I'm not going to let people do them on this Site.
13. Different Creatures are allowed, such as, Vampires and Werewolves. If you wish to be a different Creature please PM an Admin and ask if it's alright. The Admin will let you know if you're allowed to or not.
14. Activity is important. As an Admin I am very active and I ask my members to be active as well. I am not saying you have to come on 20 or 30 times a day, but I am just saying that it’s important that you come on a few times a week just to keep up with posts. Accounts that are inactive for longer than a period of 30 days will be deleted unless I am somehow informed of your absence. Also Canon Characters have to be more Active then Original Characters.
15. This is a Mature site. However, to be courteous to those who want to join the site but avoid it's mature contents, remember to mark the thread with a warning. Just a simple "Mature Content" or "R" will do.
16. Sex // Pregnancy – as mentioned above if there is sex involved in the thread, make sure to write "Mature Content" in the subtext. Pregnancy is not allowed on this site, as it’s not fantasy and so male pregnancy is not possible. If you want a Canon Character to be Pregnant please PM an Admin to ask them if it's alright. Also not everyone can be Pregnant at the same time. Anyone under the age of 16 can not have Sex or be Pregnant.
( FILTHY little MUDBLOOD ) admins have the power to change the rules at any given moment, for your enjoyment, safety, or just because we feel like it. we will let you know if we either added or changed a rule.
